Oven-Baked Cheese Caprese Skewers
Fresh, melty, and so much fun!
Think of these as a Caprese salad's cooler, slightly toastier cousin. These skewers swap in melty chunks of Gardner’s Original Oven-Baked Cheese for a warm, savory twist on the classic combo. Perfect for parties, backyard snacking, or anytime you need something impressive but easy to serve.
Ingredients:
-
1 pack Gardner’s Original Oven-Baked Cheese (6 oz), cut into 16 cubes
-
16–20 cherry tomatoes (2–3 per skewer)
-
A large bunch of fresh basil leaves
-
8 small wooden skewers, soaked in water for 10 minutes if grilling
Instructions:
-
Cook the oven-baked cheese using one of the following methods until golden and crisp on the outside:
-
Air Fryer: 400°F for 4 minutes per side
-
Skillet: Dry nonstick pan, medium-high heat, 5 minutes per side
-
Grill: Place cubes on foil, grill 5–10 minutes until glistening
-
Microwave: High for 30 seconds to 1 minute
-
-
While the cheese is cooking, prep and assemble the skewers:
-
Thread 2–3 cherry tomatoes per skewer
-
Layer them with 1–2 fresh basil leaves, folded
-
Finish by cutting the cheese into 16 equal cubes, placing 2-3 cubes on each skewer
-
-
Serve immediately while the cheese is warm and melty.
-
Optional: Drizzle with balsamic glaze or Gardner’s Hot Honey for extra flair.
